We are a small indie team composed of people with +10 years of experience in the game industry. Currently we work part time as indies and part time in other companies. Martin Bousquet and Pascal Pouvereau make up the core team with a few regular contributors that help us with their own expertise.
Martin Bousquet started making games as a 12 years old on a Texas Instrument TI-81 calculator and then moved on to Z80 assembly in high school. His first indie game was an unofficial Castlevania sequel made in 2007 which has been ported to PC recently and is free on itch.io. Martin currently works part time at Ubisoft as a programmer and has contributed to projects like Just Dance, Ghost Recon and Mario + Rabbids.
Pascal Pouvereau has both a technical and creative profile. He's been working in the game industry since 2007 and as a web developer since 2015. He currently works part time at Kylotonn Games as a lead UI/tech artist and also teaches computer graphics at the Bobigny University Paris 13e.
HistoryThe Original Game jam
We have always loved doing game jams together and in August of 2015 we were a part of the Ludum Dare 33 (one of largest game jams in the world). The theme was 'You are the monster' and we came up with an idea of a comedy game where you play as an intern in a monster costume. It was a really fun jam and we were really happy with the result! The demo is called "Internship Adventure" and is still playable here.
It also performed really well: over +2700 entries, we were rated #5 for the theme, #6 for innovation, #9 for the overall quality, #14 for humor and so on!After
We continued on with our lives until early 2016 when we decided to finish the game. Even though just an extended version of the jam would have sufficed, we quickly realised what we really wanted to do was take the time and make something really good and polished. We started working on it part time and the rest is history!Now
We are working hard to finish it by the end of 2022. Some chapters are almost done and need an overall QA pass, some others are still in the prototype phase. We've also tackled most of the "late tasks that are not high priority but still need to be done one day", like the Steam integration or a proper crash reporting system.
Super Intern Story is made in C# with an in-house 2D engine based on various libraries like OpenGL, DirectSound and XInput.
